A Christmas Carol Poster… This Time in Creepy Mo-Cap 3D!

Sure, Robert Zemeckis probably won’t make another live-action movie anytime soon. Beowulf had some stuff going for it, namely Ray Winstone’s passionate attempt to emote through piles of pixelated creepiness. Yes, I will admit that the creepiness would probably help Jim Carrey’s Scrooge more than hurt in this case. Should you be excited for this next iteration of A Christmas Carol? I’d wait until the trailer to find out for sure. The poster does seem to suggest that they’ve given up on the photo-realism idea for now (at least until Avatar) and have gone for a more stylized aesthetic. This will only help their cause in the long run. It’ll make a ton of money, it’ll probably be cool in Imax 3D, and they’ll probably be re-releasing it from now until the end of time like Robert Zemeckis’s first CGI attempt, The Polar Express. For those still bothering to read this, the poster is below. Look for this one around the beginning of the holiday season.
