As part of the promotion for the upcoming ’80s-style throwback teen comedy I Love You, Beth Cooper, star Hayden Panettiere is challenging us to upload our own love-revealing videos online. From the press release:
Everyone harbors a secret desire to reveal their true feelings though rarely do we act on it. But the new motion picture comedy I LOVE YOU, BETH COOPER and its star Hayden Panettiere are about to change all that by inviting people to upload their confessional videos to iloveyoubethcooper.com for a special event entitled BETH COOPER MOMENTS OF TRUTH.
Inspired by the film’s protagonist, school valedictorian Denis Cooverman, who proclaims his love for the hottest and most popular girl in school during his graduation speech, “Beth Cooper Moments of Truth” participants will tape a special message they’ve always wanted to express – to a friend, parent, love interest… anyone. Selected videos will be featured in television spots for I LOVE YOU, BETH COOPER.
I’m afraid I can’t participate as I’ve been with someone for a while (someone who would be very mad if I announced my crush on Natalie Portman to the world). But all you crazy hormone-addled high schoolers: get it done. You’ll feel better. Especially if you end up being featured on a TV spot, which your crush then sees, and is mortified by, which compels her to tell her jock friends to beat you up, turning you into a school pariah. See, it all works out in the end.
