Bruce Willis is a presence. He walks into the room, as he has a million
times before with other films, ready to be grilled by the press but comes in
with an uncanny calm. While filming his new movie, Hostage, Bruce points out
that this movie is different than the stereotypical “Bruce Willis” movie. He
explains, “This guy is emotionally crushed. I couldn¹t have done this film 18
years ago without being a father having that emotional weight.”

What makes Hostage unique for Bruce is the chance to work with his daughter,
Rumer. While Bruce also produced Hostage, he stands by the fact that Rumer
earned her role. Speaking about his children acting he says, “If they want to
act in film, they have to do it with their mom or me. I told Rumer that she
had to audition and she came in and won the part.” It’s important that she
was cast as the daughter to Bruce’s lead because of the material involved.
He goes on to say how traumatizing it is to lose a child in a hostage
situation. “It’s horrific to think about having your kids taken away from
you.”

Bruce Willis also took time to talk about his role as Hartigan in the wildly
anticipated film, Sin City. “Hartigan is an honest cop who goes up against
everyone who’s not honest.” This is not another film based on a comic book.
Unlike X-Men or Spider-Man, Frank Miller wrote Sin City for an adult
audience. “They are not comic books. They are very adult, film-noir crime
stories.” Sin City promises to be one of the biggest movies of the year with
a cast to die for, material that fueled a co-director title between Robert
Rodriguez and Frank Miller and a movie that was almost entirely shot on
green screen with digital hardware. When asked about Star Wars, Bruce

Star Wars.”
