Any news is good news coming out of PT Anderson’s upcoming film The Master; but this is big. Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead has confirmed that he’s written the score for the film which has a premiere date of September 21st. Greenwood previously wrote a brilliant score for PT Anderson’s film There Will Be Blood in 2007.
Here’s a full track list:
‘Overtones’
‘Time Hole’
‘Back Beyond’
‘Get Thee Behind Me Satan’ (Ella Fitzgerald)
‘Alethia’
‘Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree (With Anyone Else but Me)’ (Madisen Beaty)
‘Atomic Healer’
‘Able-Bodied Seamen’
‘The Split Saber’
‘Baton Sparks’
‘No Other Love’ (Jo Stafford)
‘His Master’s Voice’
‘Application 45 Version 1′
‘Changing Partners’ (Helen Forrest)
‘Sweetness Of Freddie’
The soundtrack will also include familiar doo-wop hits from the time period. The Master is set in the 1950’s and is concerned with Philip Seymour Hoffman as the charismatic leader of a religious cult being likened to Scientology. It takes place on a boat, with Joaquin Phoenix and Amy Adams co-starring.
