It’s a sad day indeed when a man who touched the lives of many dies. Today, September 3, 2012, we say goodbye to actor Michael Clarke Duncan. Duncan is probably best known for his role as John Coffey in The Green Mile. His breakout role as Bear in Armageddon gave him the one leg up all actors who come to Hollywood dream of.

Duncan was also in multiple other films, including Breakfast of Champions, The Whole Nine Yards, Sin City, D.E.B.S., and many more. Before getting into film, Duncan was well accomplished in the television world, having appeared on Sister, Sister, Living Single, Married: With Children among others. In addition to having worked in television and film, he also lent his voice to a myriad of animated features including Family Guy and Kung Fu Panda.

Duncan was admitted into the hospital on July 13th after having suffered a heart attack. His girlfriend, Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, performed potentially life saving CPR on him before paramedics showed up.

On the morning of September 3rd, however, Duncan died; most likely from complications of his heart attack. He was 54.
