Superheroes continue to conquer the box office this weekend with the heavily anticipated release of Sony’s The Amazing Spider-man raking in over $62 Million in its premiere weekend.
Not to completely undone by a guy in tights, Seth MacFarlane’s Ted comes in at number two on the list with a respectable $32.2 Million in its second week of release. The magic of Pixar’s Brave continues to draw in the crowds coming it at $19.6 million, with Oliver Stone’s The Savages ($16 Mil) and Magic Mike ($15.6 Mil) on its heels respectively.
Despite being in their second and fifth weeks of release, both Tyler Perry’s Madea Witness Protection ($10.1Mil) and Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted ($7.5Mil) beat out Katy Perry: Part Of Me in its first week with only $4.5Mil.
Rounding out the top ten are critically acclaimed independents Moonrise Kingdom at $4.5Mil and Wood Allen’s To Rome With Love with $3.5Mil.
