Think back to how hard you cried at the end of Toy Story 3. Tears in your eyes yet? Think of how hard it was for you to come to the realization that you too are now an adult when the toys watched Andy drive away into the horizon. Now think of that gut-wrenching feeling you got when the credits rolled, knowing the next time you’d see our plastic friends would probably be when your own kids watched the movies.
Well, you can stop being sad now because Toy Story 4 is in the works! Maybe you’ll be a tad angry like I was upon first learning this fact. For me, Toy Story is not to be toyed with. Ever. I am really serious about my love for movies, especially Toy Story, and if anyone were to ever treat it as anything less than holy and sacred, we’d have a problem on our hands.
This is Pixar, though. Yes, they’re probably doing this because it’s a sure fire way to
make money but no, they would never fudge up a Toy Story movie. Writers John Lasseter and Andrew Stanton wouldn’t do that to their own characters. Plus, Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Michael Keaton, and Joan Cusack have already signed on to provide their voices for the film. If they’re on board, it’s pretty much a guarantee that Toy Story 4 will be nothing short of awesome.
Inklings of more Toy Story have been out and about recently. A short about the toys going to Hawaii was shown before Cars 2 as well as The Muppets. Although no plot details have been released at this point in time, we can assume that Toy Story 4 will feature a story having to do with the toys’ new owner Bonnie and her toys we met in 3.
The fourth installment is set to come out in 2015, a full 20 years after the first.
