Ben Foster
Interview By: Aysha Hussain
Click here for another interview with Ben Foster! There appears to be a resurgence emerging in Hollywood today that few have been able to accomplish, it’s called acting. It seems like the more chameleon-like the actor, the more we take notice. Ben Foster is one of those character actors whose approach to acting is so serious yet fluid, it just works. Foster not only has the innate, emotional capacity to shift between different characters, but he also possesses the unique ability to change his physical demeanor whether it’s with his eyes, hair or his body overall. Just when you think all he’s able to do is take little girls Hostage, or watch people die, Foster shows up on the big screen as Angel, the newest member of the X – Men clan in the new flick, X-Men: The Last Stand. Foster’s character, Warren Worthington III (Angel) is a new addition to the X-Men cast, in which he plays a newly winged mutant who has just joined forces with the School of Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart). “Coming to work, it’s like coming to work in an amusement park. This one happened to be primarily a physical preparation.” X-Men 3: The Last Stand, opening May 26, 2006, is expected to be action packed, visually exciting, suspenseful and will leave you wanting more. Foster says X3 taught him to listen to himself again. “It’s a universal thing. We all feel like we’re not enough. We forget how to listen to ourselves. That’s what I’ll take most from X-Men—listening to your own individuality, and the problems and the conflicts that arise with having to confront that. It’s a great encouraging message.” Speaking of encouraging messages. It’s nice to know that actors like Foster look up to other actors who have paved the way for him. Foster expressed his deep appreciation and respect for fellow actors like Sir Ian Mc Kellen. “I think what makes the truly great artists, that do live forever, and have such amazing, such powerful careers, is that they’re good people. They’re interesting people and they’re interested in people. There’s a casualness, an ease, fun and a generosity on set from these actors. It truly informs their work, because you have to be ... |
