George Clooney is arguably one of the biggest movie stars on the planet. He is definitely one of film’s biggest personalities. Yet to the layman, he possesses a down-to-earth quality which endears him to the masses.. The typical cliché would follow for men, “someone you would like to have a drink with”, or “someone that that you could bring home to meet your parents” for women.

Even though he works within one of the riskiest businesses out there, he moves through life (or at least interviews) with complete self-control and confidence. Yet, somehow, his confidence resonates in such a way that it feels as if he has had it his entire life. It didn’t just arrive on the doorstep when he became part of the pop culture elite. The following interview helps reveal why he is such an important movie star and in turn such an important person in the world.

Clooney is often referred to in some circles as one of the best guests to have round for dinner. People toss things around like ‘consummate professional’; but the idea that she is doing such a difficult complex character and has to speak German with a German accent, and you can still have a great afternoon with her…she is amazing.”

And while speaking of perfect dinner guests, there has been some recent talk in the pop culture news about a dinner between Clooney and Danny DeVito, that culminated in DeVito’s drunken performance on The View the next morning. “We went to dinner and drank and had a couple of shots. Danny kept going [apparently]. I was in bed by 11:30. I did watch the show [the next day] and I laughed. Great great guy. Thank God he is a funny drunk.” Seemingly putting an end to that boring tedious story that the news outlets love to pick up and run with.

Clooney is often in the news for things not involving his films. Earlier this year he did some great work with bringing the Darfur situation in Africa to the larger culture. He has been involved in very public spats with the moral majority in politics and religion. Most notably a spat between he and Bill O’Reilly. Since he is so involved in the public and politics even, ...
