Earthquake: One Night Stand

San Francisco knows all about earthquakes and tremors; they know what its like to be shaken up a bit from the ground they walk on to the local coffee bean shop. They hate when they have to hold extra tight onto their mocha lattes because it’s an extra California hassle.
Well to their surprise not all earthquakes have to be negative; but Earthquake himself will still shake you up a bit and make sure you don’t finish all your coffee.
HBO has a one-night stand special where comedians perform their uncensored acts for half an hour. For comedian extraordinaire Earthquake, this natural disaster delivers some aggressive hard-hitting material where blind pimps smack the wrong hoe and Michael Jackson takes too many naps.
It’s honest stuff from a no bullshit kind of guy; he’s anything but passive and he will bring all he has to the stage.
He admits to quitting his job if he were Oprah’s man because you don’t need any dreams when your with the queen because she is the dream. He rips on John Kerry and many more people whom we all want to hear the lowdown on.
For me he’s a less funny Chris Rock by far because I think he tries too hard. He also tries to be overly cool, and in comedy we like losers on stage so we feel better about ourselves. This is Earthquake’s act however, he’s a husky pimp with plenty of slang and will deliver with full energy.
There are deleted scenes with a couple extra excerpts from his half hour show. My beef of these releases is HBO and their pathetic attempt to make money; these are DVDs with half an hour of material. Atleast take a few comedians and come out with a compilation set for a variety of humor.
