the creation of the film. To see how pleased Chance’s family as well as Strobl was with eh film made it seem that much more true to life. The deleted scene was the only feature to be somewhat disappointing. It didn’t add much to the film as most deleted scenes don’t. The only problem is that this one was particularly pointless. It was a scene from the film where Strobl is watching over Chance’s casket and then leaves, but what was added was an absurdly short conversation between Strobl and another officer that in short just said that the other officer would be watching over Strobl.

It is surprising that more war related dramas aren’t coming out right now. It is probably a good thing because it would get to at point of exploitation of a truly terrible thing, but one would assume that people would cash in on that. War is a touchy subject for most people right now being that the majority of people have lost or know someone who has lost somebody close to them. Taking Chance does justice to a war drama by taking the opportunity to show as much respect for those that have lost someone as possible. Despite being slow, the subject matter keeps it captivating and touching until the very end.
