game. If it wasn’t for the glossy sheen of the movie, the unknown cast and the shoddy script make it seem as if it were a pilot for some shitty CW show about male witches. Everyone in the film is ridiculously good-looking and all have perfectly toned bodies. While the makers would have thought this will make teens automatically love the movie they forget the fact that it leaves not a single character we can identify with. That is unless you have a chiseled jaw ad a ripped six-pack.
Extras anyone? For anyone who’s interested there’s an excitable Commentary with Renny Harlin for all masochists plus there’s Breaking the Silence: Exposing The Covenant Featurette.
As an elongated music video it would surely pass but for anything resembling a theatrical feature, it’s quite the failure. The Covenant takes an idea which could have been interesting and does absolutely nothing with it that we haven’t seen before. Makes The Craft seem like The Seventh Sign.
