English teacher Jake Singer (Chris Eigeman) enlists the services of Dr. Ernesto Morales (Ian Holm), an aggressive psychiatrist, in order to get over his failed romance. When Jake meets a rich, grieving widow (Famke Jannsen), Dr. Morales advice and admonishments occur at the most inopportune moments.
