won't laugh, even if poor Luke is running down the street with a skateboarding bull dog and only a sheet wrapped around his waist.

The camera work oddly enough seemed to improve as the movie progressed, and then became less professional again towards the end. Although, I will say that the music chosen for this film was fantastic. Each song fit the scene perfectly...even the Ashlee Simpson performances.

Even though I'm not an Ashlee Simpson fan I'll give credit where it's due. Ashlee Simpson delivered a very good performance for her role. I didn't like her "playing coy" technique though. I hate that I feel like she didn't require much studying for this role, since she was pretty much playing herself. Her body language was typical to every other appearance we've ever seen of her. In short, she plays the frumpy, cool tomboy who looks down and away every time she speaks or sings because she just so "sweet" and "modest." Her dialogue was delivered very naturally in any case.

Overall, I enjoyed this movie. I thought it had a few charming and original elements within it that set it apart from other movies in its genre. There's the crazy brother (Kip Pardue) who stays true to his "funkadelic" roots and rocks out with a yellow mini bus while wearing bell bottoms and a thong, and likes to send a farewell with a two-foot roll of bread. And, then there's the ploy in which not everything works out the way it should, according to the romance formula that is. Although there are some eccentricities added into this mix, the theme is simple enough. Basically, all that is undiscovered will haunt and plague you so long as it remains that way.

Movie Grade:A-
I had low expectations that were met and surpassed.

Synopsis:

An aspiring New York model falls in love with a struggling musician when they suddenly cross paths on a subway train. Having achieved success as a model, she decides to move to L.A. to launch an acting career. With the support of her acerbic agent and sometimes surrogate mom, she lands a spot in a highly sought after acting class where she befriends another would-be actress. While out on the town discovering the music scene, the aspiring model again crosses paths with the struggling musician. The two girls decide to help him and set out to create some L.A. style hype to get him noticed. As his profile rises, so do the demands of his budding new career and they both discover that the price of fame may be higher than anyone expected.
