Gore Verbinski, director of all three Pirates of the Caribbean films, has signed on to helm the big-screen adaptation of the video game Bioshock.
What's more, John Logan is in negotiations to write the screenplay. Logan's credits include the good (The Last Samurai, The Aviator), and the bad (Bats), so hopefully this will be in the former group, because this one has the potential to be terrific.
The game begins with the survivor of a plane crash named Jack discovering an island...but I'm pretty sure the similarities to Lost end there.
