James Marsden is in "final negotiations" to co-star in The Box, written and directed by Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko, Southland Tales).
Marsden will play the husband of the main character, set to be played by Cameron Diaz. The two receive a box from a stranger, played by Frank Langella, who tells them if they push a button on the box, they'll receive a large amount of cash - but someone they don't know will die.
The screenplay is based on the short story "Button, Button" by Richard Matheson, which has previously been adapted into an episode of the '80s Twilight Zone series.
Marsden seems to finally be breaking out of the semi-famous realm he has been in ever since Disturbing Behavior; he also appears as the romantic lead in the Katherine Heigl chick flick 27 Dresses. |
