Superbad star Michael Cera will star in Youth in Revolt, an adaptation of the bestselling self-published novel by C.D. Payne, for Dimension Films.
The book, which was a cult hit and sparked an entire series, follows a teenager named Nick Twisp (Cera) who tries desperately to get with the girl of his dreams while on a family vacation. The screenplay is by Gustin Nash, and David Permut will produce, both of whom previously worked on Charlie Bartlett.
Cera will also appear in Juno, which premieres at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival, and Year One, another Judd Apatow-produced comedy starring Jack Black. |
