The big casting rumor of the moment is that the relatively unknown Mike Vogel will play the lead role, Captain Kirk himself, in J.J. Abrams's hotly anticipated Star Trek movie.
IESB.net reported the story, and while they love their rumors over there, this one seems viable in that Vogel is currently playing one of the leads in the mysteriously untitled "1-18-08" movie, which Abrams is producing. Vogel has also recently appeared in Poseidon and Supercross.
So far, Star Trek stars Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy, both as Spock, Zoe Saldana as Uhuru, and Anton Yelchin as Chekov. The story is currently rumored to be about the first mission of the Enterprise crew.
