A few new posters hit the net for some great-looking projects coming up. First up is the Chris Weitz-directed The Golden Compass, based on the fantasy novel. It's a nice looking poster, but in my mind it just looks more like a Narnia clone than the studio was hoping for. The young girl, the snowy landscape...but I've heard the book, part of the His Dark Materials series, is fantastic. Here it is:
The other new posters are from American Gangster, a cool-sounding project with some great talent: Ridley Scott, Denzel Washington, and Russell Crowe. A while ago, Washington was slated to do this with Benicio Del Toro and his Training Day director Antoine Fuqua, but that fell through and later Scott revived it again. The posters are both slick and simple:
Gangster is slated for early November, while Compass will show up in early December. |
