I've been saving this for a slow news day, and it looks like today definitely wins. You've all seen the Southland Tales trailer, right? It's Richard Kelly's new comedy/musical/thriller/action movie about the end of the world. Or something - even those who've seen the movie and liked it don't think it makes any sense.
Anyway, in the beginning of the trailer, right after narrator Justin Timberlake says "This is how the world ends" a second time, a bunch of images flash on the screen and then disappear. Most of these are indecipherable because they're only up for exactly one frame. But thanks to the wonders of online high-definition trailers, I've screen-captured each image and present them to you below. Do they reveal deep secrets of the movie, or just confuse us more? You decide. (But seriously, the answer is the latter choice.) Oh, and you can click on each one for a bigger version. Here we go:
