They're finally almost done casting the new Star Trek movie, and the folks over at AICN revealed today that the casting of Dr. McCoy is "pretty much a done deal": Karl Urban. You've seen him be a gritty action hero in Doom, Lord of the Rings, and The Bourne Supremacy (in which he was the villain, actually).
Additionally, based on a post over at director Joe Carnahan's blog, Chris Pine will indeed be playing Captain Kirk. Pine was initially offered a part in Carnahan's upcoming movie White Jazz, but Carnahan reports that he turned it down in order to "go boldly where no man has gone before."
So there you have it. Barring any major changes, we've got the main Enterprise crew and the main villain all locked down.
