Nope, this isn't an article from 2001, but yes, I am talking about a movie starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jordana Brewster. The difference? No more definite articles -- the movie is called Fast and Furious (which I guess is better than 4 Fast 4 Furious, or, the title I was banking on, The Fast and the Furious: Need 4 Speed).

I'm pretty sure it's the only time a sequel has ever been given what is, for all intents and purposes, the same name as the first movie. But then, it sort of feels like more of a reunion than a movie anyway.

Anyway, the trailer is out, which you can watch in better-res at IGN or below from YouTube. The flick's directed by Justin Lin and written by Chris Morgan, the team behind Tokyo Drift, although the star of that movie, Lucas Black, gets totally shafted here (unless he has some kind of cameo like Diesel did at the end of that one).

And actually? The trailer's pretty cool. It was a terrific idea to devote the first half of it to a straightforward hijacking scene, although -- spoiler alert -- word is that the first major character we see on screen won't last through very much of the movie. ❏
