"What would Elvis Do?" Lilo And Stitch 2 call upon the King for advice in
every questionable situation. In this sequel Lilo and Stitch must find a way to
win the annual hula competition. Lilo wants to follow in her mother's
footsteps, needs to find her calling for the perfect hula. However, Stitch has a glitch
that seems to get progressively worse. So now, Stitch and Lilo must find a
way to increase Stitch's good side before his glitch takes over and wreaks havoc
in Hawaii.
Stitch first realizes that his wires are crossed when he begins to have
nightmares of himself violently wrecking Hawaii and hurting Lilo. After Stitch angers Lilo by losing his grip on his bad side at the hula
audition, he then decides that he should try to re-capture his goodness.
Stitch gallivants around the island doing good deeds wherever he can. However, all
his hard work and guidance from "the king" may not cure his glitch.
The art involved in this movie is wonderful! The illustrations are detailed
and colorful. The love that went onto creating this beloved movie is clear.
This maybe the most original Walt Disney movie yet. So many different details in
this film make it a complete success. The idea of a malicious little blue
alien landing in Hawaii (usually all destruction happens to New York, so this is a
welcome change), and changing into a kind-hearted dog-like pet to a young
girl is ...well weird. However, it's a lovely oddity! I watched this film and
found myself grinning like an 8 year-old again. That is an achievement all in
itself! For all the "grown-ups" whom want to feel carefree and youthfully
entertained, Lilo And Stitch is your brand new mood altering prescription!
The dialogue exchanged between the characters in this flick is perfectly
matched to their roles within the story. The watchful older sister, Nani, is
written as a new mother figure should be. She's unsure and clumsy in her new role
as Lilo's guardian, but we get to see her learn the ways to maneuver Lilo's
upbringing. Lilo is put together as a willful little girl trying to make
everyone proud of her...most of all her sidekick, Stitch. Stitch is great in all his
character quirks. He can't always be understood (as he speaks whatever
language it is he speaks), but his grunts and sprinkles of English, as well as his
gestures, help us understand what he means to say.
The music chosen for this film gives it a vibrant energy. The Elvis Presley
song and dances in this production keep you bopping around in
