Day Of Reckoning follows the story of Jon (Scott Adkins) whose wife and daughter were murdered before his eyes, then beaten into a coma by house invaders. His new purpose in life is to seek out these criminals and revenge his family’s death. At first you might think you have this whole plot figured out in the first ten minutes but as the movie progresses it starts makes less and less sense which kept me intrigued knowing that it would eventually lead to an explanation as to what the hell is going on. For being a fourth installment of a small budget action movie, I give it props for being entertaining from start to finish. I wish this movie had a bigger budget to be more competitive in the box office.

Jean-Claude Van Damme had very little screen time which was a little disappointing, but when he was on screen, he owned it. His speaking lines were minimal but damn did he make his presence felt in the film through his evil villain character. His stare is enough to make any hero stop in their tracks and rethink touching him.

Let me just point out that Jean-Claude and Dolph Lundgren are not young guys anymore so keep that in mind when you see them performing all those stunts. Inspirational to a young guy like me to keep physically fit well into my 60’s.

This might not be a blockbuster that will blow you away with special effects and acting but it is definitely a movie worth watching if you love a good butt whooping with a lot of explosions, nudity, and gore. Day of Reckoning is definitely not for those with a weak stomach. There will be plenty of blood, bones breaking and other carnage. There were many scenes that caused me wince and groan in discomfort as legs were broken in half, limbs ripped off, and a lot of painful punches. The score complimented the film really well giving it a Terminator vibe to it.

Bottom line: If you are a fan of Jean-Claude movies and appreciate a good action film that delivers over the top gore, this flick is for you. I would even watch this movie a second time when I get the chance which is not common for me.

Disney is well on its way to owning everything there is to possibly own in Hollywood including Lucasfilm!

The ever growing powerhouse studio has purchased Lucasfilm for an incredible $4.05 billion.

There is also talk of a new live action Star Wars: Episode 7 film to be released in 2015.

Starring the original greats, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford? That still remains to be seen. But I think it isn’t crazy to assume we will see good ol’ R2-D2 and C3PO again standing alongside a slightly confused Chewbacca.

It’ll be interesting to see what else Disney decides to do with this new amazing purchase. What do you think they have up their sleeve and already in the works?

Seriously Hollywood get it right! You want to see proof that Hollywood casts based on profit of a film rather than how true it is to the origin of the story? Watch the movie Jack Reacher. And if you didn’t notice in the trailer, why are they using a soundtrack so close to Mission Impossible?

I predict this movie will be a flop and get horrible reviews but make the studios just enough money to pocket and be content with.

Reacher is 6′ 5″ tall (1.96m) with a 50-inch chest, and weighing between 210 and 250 pounds.
