NEW DOC REVEALS THE VOICE-OVER ARTISTS BEHIND THE MIC… Over 100 Voice Talents Tell Their Tales in I Know That Voice.

Ah, the beauty of anonymity. It’s one of those things I’m sure Mr. Clooney or Ms. Jolie or any number of A-list stars would kill for now and then. Being able to do your craft without the annoyance of being paparazzi and tabloid fodder. But celebrity is the price you pay for being one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood, right? Not necessarily.

Voice-over actors, no matter how big, can be more or less anonymous even at the top of the heap. I seriously doubt even the legendary Mel Blanc or Don LaFontaine ever had to use a secret exit from a hotel to avoid the press. Being a voice actor means Mickey or Bugs or Bart get to be the face for you. Until now.

The new documentary I Know That Voice, premiering November 6 at the historic Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, means to change all that. Over 100 actors, animators, directors, writers, agents and more were interviewed for this behind the scenes look at the voice-over side of the industry.

Produced by veteran VO actor John Di Maggio (Futurama, Wreck-It Ralph, and a deliciously deadpan portrayal of the Joker in DC’s Batman: Under the Red Hood), this doc offers a rare glimpse into what we so rarely get to see: the real talent behind our favorite animated characters talking about their craft, its history, and the many bumpy roads they took to get to where they are.

Among the actors interviewed are Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker, yes, but most notorious for being the reigning Joker voice for over 20 years), Nancy Cartwright (Bart Simpson), Jim Cummings (Winnie the Pooh), June Foray (Rocky the Flying Squirrel, still acting at the age of 97!) and on-camera notables such as Hank Azaria, Seth Green, Marion Ross, Ed Asner and Breckin Meyer who have carved out their own niche in this off-screen community.

TCS is getting ready for Halloween at The Hub Network’s First Annual Halloween Bash as we talk to stars Keenan Thompson and Happy Days Legend, Don Most.

The Hub may be young, but man do they know how to throw a party!

Especially when the type of party being thrown happens to be a Halloween Party that gives kids everything they were hoping for while at the same time letting their parents act like kids again!

The Hub is one of cables fastest growing fledgling networks, having just celebrated only its third Anniversary this month.

In addition to their Original Live Action series like Spooksville and Strange Days at Blake Holsey High and their super successful animated series, My Little Pony Friendship is Magic and Transformers Prime, The Hub has also been known for reviving classic television series like Happy Days, The Wonder Years, and many more… proving that kids of today can enjoy the very same shows that their parents grew up on some 20-30 years ago.

We chatted with former Happy Days star Don Most and our host for the evening, Mr. Keenan Thompson of Saturday Night live fame, on the Red Carpet as they prepared themselves for the evening ahead of them.

Original post: The Hub Network’s First Annual Halloween Bash Sets an Amazing Tone for the Upcoming Holiday!

Internet gaming has become such a big phenomenon over the last few years it should come as no surprise that there’s now been a movie based around it.

Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake star in Runner Runner. The story is all about a Princeton student called Richie Furst (Timberlake) who pays his college fees through online gaming. But his gambling gets him into trouble and Princeton threatens to kick him out for gambling on campus. Undeterred, Richie puts everything he owns into a poker game online, but then loses it all. He believes he has been swindled by the owners of Midnight Black, the online gaming site he plays on, so he heads down to Costa Rica to confront them.

There he attempts to meet with Ivan Block (Affleck) claiming the site has cheated him, and although Block sends him away dismissively, the next day he calls Richie back to offer him a job at Midnight Black. Of course, before long Richie is caught in a web of sub-plots including Costa Rican officials and an FBI agent (Anthony Mackie) who is determined to bring Block down. There’s also a love story woven into the script, with both Furst falling in love with Block’s girlfriend, Rebecca (Gemma Arterton).

Runner Runner was released earlier this year, and it’s now available to stream or download online. If you’ve not yet got into downloading movies online, it’s worth making sure your internet connection is up to the job. Internet bundle packs can be customised to suit your individual needs, so decide what kind of internet usage you’ll need before signing a bundle contract. For instance if you stream movies more than you watch cable TV, you might want to choose a minimum of TV channels and increase the amount of internet downloading you can do per month.

Runner Runner was produced by Leo DiCaprio and directed by Brad Furman. The star factor of Afflect and Timberlake add to the interest that the movie offers, but Arterton doesn’t really bring much depth to the film. Anthony Mackie, who plays the role of the FBI Agent Shavers brings some humorous moments into the movie, but it’s not a film you’d really want to watch more than once.

But if you’re into online gaming then Runner Runner is definitely worth a watch. It’s still on release at some movie theatres but if you missed it on the big screen, you could always stream it at home. It would even be possible to watch the movie while you’re doing some online gaming of your own! Having watched this film though, you probably won’t want to follow Richie Furst’s lead and challenge any of the online casino sites over any losses in person – leave that to the world of fiction!
