Tyler Posey

"Releasing the Beast for a Third Season"

Nearly 30 years after the original Teen Wolf became one of the biggest surprise hit comedies of the 1980’s, MTV gave the property a new lease on life as a supernatural teen drama TV series.

Last year, MTV decided to give a TV series adaptation of the film a shot and it became a bona fide success now into its third season. We recently caught up with 21 year-old Tyler Posey, who plays Scott McCall, the titular character during this year’s Wondercon at the Anaheim Convention Center and shared with us how fame and success has made an impact on his career from Teen Wolf.

“Dude, it’s changed my life big time, man,” Posey enthuses, “I love it. It’s great, dude. I love being appreciated for what I do. Sometimes, the fans are a little aggressive and I really don’t let them be aggressive sometimes. I stand my ground and say, ‘Look, I don’t want to take a picture of you because you’re freaking me out.’ Sometimes I can do that, but for the most part, it’s awesome, dude. I love it. I’m totally appreciative of it and it’s great, man.”

“That’s why we’re here today,” he adds, “Say hi to a bunch of fans, talk to them for a while, ‘juice them up’ a little bit, whatever the hell that means. But it’s changed my life completely. I’ll be on a date. There’s a couple places that I can’t go anymore like The Grove. I can’t go to The Grove. I can’t go to any amusement parks, but it’s cool because I can shut the amusement park down and say, ‘I just want me and a couple of my friends to come by and get everyone else out of there.’ But no, man, I really do appreciate it, especially when it’s like a little kid, like a little dude comes up, he’s like, ‘Hey, man, I love Teen Wolf. I’m like, ‘Yeah!’ It’s awesome. I love

it, man.”

We asked Posey to talk about what fans will look forward to this season from the show.

“Geez, man,” he says, “Everything, like the epitome of Teen Wolf times a million. It’s going to be the biggest action ever in Teen Wolf, biggest plot points, biggest twists and turns, you dive deeper into the characters’ lives.”

“Each character breaks and falters a little bit and you just see these huge arcs of each character,” Tyler continues, “And so many new characters and awesome fun things to happen and it’s just intense and great, it’s a cool show. It’s not dead for a second on the show. By the end, you’re like this close to the TV and you pooped your pants. It’s full-circle comedy. It all comes back to the poop in the pants. I’ve learned to control it, but people at home will not.”

Posey talks about what to expect this season in the ongoing werewolf struggle between Scott, an Omega, and the upper-class, the Alphas.

“Well, the new Alphas…” Tyler says, “Well, Scott is an Omega, so he’s a lot less powerful than the Alphas. There’s like a whole pack of them this time, which is unheard of, so it’s intense. And then, the leader of the Alpha pack is even stronger than the Alphas, so it’s crazy and they add a lot of tension and stress to everyone’s life because they want something, but you don’t know what they want. And they’re trying to get him and Scott won’t let him.”

Tyler talks about what to expect from Scott’s relationship with girlfriend Allison Argent this season.

“Not so much,” Posey says, “Not in the beginning. They’re each other’s first love, so they’re always going to have feelings for each other, but I think right now, they’re still cooling off and they’re both in a really good place and they don’t want to change or ruin anything, so they’re going to stay away from each other for as

long as they can, I think.”
