Every Monday night our own Dan Deevy hops onto Skype and talks movies and entertainment with one of WTOP’s Best Anchors, Dimitri Sotis.

WTOP, 103.5 FM is broadcast throughout the Washington D.C. Metro area but you can listen live every week on wtop.com or find the individual segments right here on TheCinemaSource.

This week we talk about the first real reason to see a movie in IMAX – the action, adventure, sci-fi film directed by Guillermo del Toro, Pacific Rim hits theaters on July 12th . We hear from the star of the film Charlie Hunnam as he reflects on what makes this Robots vs. Aliens movie relatable to everyone!

We also talk about the new “Spectacular Classics Screening Series,” created by A24 Films to help promote the release of their next film, a millennial coming of age drama called, The Spectacular Now; starring Miles Teller, Shailene Woodley, Brie Larson, Kyle Chandler, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

A24 has curated a film series for the month of July, presenting a different iconic coming-of-age film every Tuesday night beginning on July 9th and then continuing every Tuesday night following, all leading up to the theatrical release of The Spectacular Now on August 2nd.

This week they’ll be presenting the 1989 John Cusack / Cameron Crowe film Say Anything, followed by Dazed and Confused on July 16th, Almost Famous on July 23rd and then finally on July 30th the ultimate coming of age film, The Breakfast Club.
